The Blade of Mercy is a new talisman introduced in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. While it shares its name with the popular trick weapon from Bloodborne, this Blade of Mercy serves a different function. Blade of Mercy Location in Shadow of the Erdtree

Good news: you can obtain the Blade of Mercy early in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, within minutes of starting. It’s one of the first things you should do when you enter the Shadow Realm.

Location: The Blade of Mercy is located at the top of the Scorched Ruins in Gravesite Plain, just a little north of where you emerge from the starting cave. You’ll also find Gravesite Plain’s Map Fragment nearby, so be sure to grab that too.

Directions:

1, Ascend the Ruins: Begin your ascent by finding the staircase in one of the crumbled buildings leading to the roof. Travel south from the Site of Grace ‘Scorched Ruins’ and head right.
2, Locate the Building: The building you need is immediately on your right. Defeat the phantom hound behind the pots to find the staircase leading up to the roof.
3, Cross the Roof: Jump over the red cloth on the roof into another gap in the wall to your left. Phantoms will start throwing stones at you, but you can easily dispatch them and continue.
4, Navigate the Drape: You’ll see a large red drape extending across the top of the ruins. Walk on this to reach the other side of the Scorched Ruins. Ahead, you’ll see a set of pillars and a closed door in the tower.
5, Enter the Tower: Walk up to the door and push it open. The Blade of Mercy is lying in a treasure chest inside.

Blade of Mercy Effects

Congratulations! You’ve now obtained the Blade of Mercy in Shadow of the Erdtree. This talisman raises attack power after each critical hit, making it a valuable choice for melee builds.

Description: Though it looks different from its Bloodborne counterpart, the Elden Ring version mentions that the NPC Hornsent “employed this to honorably end the suffering of a compatriot” and that “after claiming numerous lives, the dagger is now broken, but has acquired a special aura.”

Hornsent is one of Shadow of the Erdtree’s sidequest NPCs. You can find him a short distance from the Scorched Ruins, by the Site of Grace ‘Three-Path Cross’. Speak to him to receive a map of the first three Miquella’s Cross locations, which you’ll need for the main story. Complete it and you’ll be rewarded with Elden Ring Runes and Items.
